Nov. 3:   Henry Carr of the Department of Music lead the University- Community Symphonic Band as part of a Sunday night gala Presidential Concert, featuring musical representatives from throughout the area.

Nov. 3:   Three presidents on a piano: David Porter of Skidmore, Jeanne Neff of Russell Sage, and James Hall of Empire State colleges perform a six-hand composition at the Presidential Concert.

Nov. 6:   The Faculty & Staff Alumni Inaugural Breakfast with the President was held at the Alumni House. Among those present were, l. to r., Vincent Franconere ’73, Environmental Health and Safety; Denise L. Szelest ’89, MBA ’95, Physical Plant; Bruce Szelest, ’86, MPA ’95, Institutional Research;and Steven B. Quinn MBA ’93, Physical Plant.

Nov.4:   Ribbon-cutting occurred in the Business Building’s newly refurbished MBA classroom, courtesy of a contribution from the New York Business Development Corporation. Doing the honors are President Hitchcock, Donald Bourque, interim dean of the School of Business, and Robert Lazar, MS ’77, president and CEO of NYBDC.

Nov. 7:   The President greeted guests at a reception in the Art Museum before the Inaugural Dinner: l. to r., Dana Kennedy, L.F. Tantillo, whose paintings are currently on exhibit, Corliss Tantillo, and author William Kennedy of the Department of English and NYS Writers Institute.

Nov. 7:   Andrew A. Sorensen, President, University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, is keynote speaker at the luncheon for the Symposium of Public Higher Education in the 21st Century: New Dynamism, New Challenges.
