Spring 2015
AIP Language Institute
Valencia, Spain

As I began my senior year at UAlbany I realized there was one experience I dreamt of having before I graduated that I had not yet completed. A few weeks into the Fall semester I found a program that would suit my interests, academics and budget best and applied to study in Valencia, Spain. My semester at the AIP Language Institute in Spain was hands-down the most fulfilling experience of my life thus far. Throughout the course of four months I significantly improved my Spanish language skills, wholly immersed myself in a foreign culture, made friends from all over the world and travelled to European cities I had previously only seen in pictures.
I am eternally grateful for the opportunities that were offered to me through UAlbany's Office of International Education including the program options and the various scholarships available. As a recipient of the Savitt Scholarship, I was able to both represent my university abroad and keep my trip under a certain budget. Now, I'm on the lookout for my next opportunity to travel overseas and hopefully pick up another language along the way.

Academic Year 2014-2015
Yonsei University
Seoul, Korea

When choosing where I wanted to study abroad I knew I wanted to go somewhere unconventional. Therefore, I chose to spend the 2014-15 academic year in Seoul, South Korea, attending Yonsei University. It has been the most amazing experience of my entire life. I was able to meet great people, gain an understanding of a different culture, eat delicious foods, and attend one of the best universities in all of Asia. With the help of the Savitt Scholarship I was able to further enjoy my experience. This scholarship assisted in paying for books and expenses, and this was very important to me as well as my parents. We are both very grateful and thankful for the opportunity I had and the extra assistance I was given
