Department of Information Technology

Royce Lobban is a Buffalo, NY native with strong ties within the Albany area. He is currently a senior studying Computer Engineering and Cyber Security. Along with being the newly appointed Director of Information Technology in the Student Association, he is involved with numerous other organizations on campus.

He is the acting President and Founder of Albany Robotics Club (A.R.C) which educates members on the logistics of robotics with hands-on experience. Along with the vice-president of A.R.C, he participated in the Blackstone's Innovation Challenge. Together they developed a fully intelligent technology website for new startup companies. He is also a proud member of Theta Tau, a professional engineering fraternity, here at the University at Albany.

As the new Director of Information Technology, Royce plans on continuing the optimization of the Student Association and Dippikill websites. He hopes to make them easily accessible with updated information. He also plans on completely digitizing the Student Association records to create a clear sense of communication between the student body as a whole and the Student Association. Digitizing the records will allow anyone to be able to see the progress in the student organizations as well as any document from previous years in an easy-to-use mobile application.

Following graduation, Royce intends to work in the private technology industry or for the government to gain practical experience in his field. After obtaining more experience, he hopes to start his own technology company with his sister, who works in the Computer Science field.
