The Public Health Leaders of Tomorrow (PHLOT) Program was established in 2006 to strengthen the current public health infrastructure across New York and to train the next generation of public health leaders. PHLOT provides funding for State and local health department (LHD) employees to seek training opportunities through academic coursework and leadership development initiatives. The program also offers leadership development opportunities, advanced training in public health practice, tuition assistance and stipends for practice-based internships to current students at the University at Albany School of Public Health preparing for public health careers in NYS government.
