About the speaker:
Dolores Albarracín (University of Illinois) is an Argentine-American psychologist who studies social cognition, communication, misinformation, and behavioral change. A fellow of APA, APS, and SESP, she is the outgoing editor-in-chief of Psychological Bulletin. Her research (~ 180 publications including five books) has been recognized with an award for Outstanding Mid-Career Contributions to the Psychology of Attitudes and Social Influence (2018) and with the Diener Award for Outstanding Mid-Career Contributions in Social Psychology (2020) from the Society of Social and Personality Psychology. She was also the recipient of the 2019 Avant Garde Award from the National Institute of Drug Abuse, and is currently funded by the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation. She uses a variety of methods, including experiments, surveys, meta-analysis and big data.
