Projects: Health Workforce Retraining Initiative (HWRI), Public Health Live

Jessica is a Research Project Graduate Assistant for the Center for Public Health Continuing Education (CPHCE). Her primary role includes collaborating on a Health Workforce Retraining Initiative focused on cultural competency. This project includes research, development, and dissemination of online continuing medical education granting instructional modules for medical and public health professionals. Additionally, she assists with the coordination of Public Health Live and the evaluation of CPHCE programs.

Jessica’s research interests include: Illness experience, medical evidence-based guidelines, and medical ethics. Her prior research incorporated anthropological training and qualitative methods to ascertain health seeking behaviors in the Sacred Valley of Peru. Jessica previously worked as a cancer prevention and care coordinator for uninsured New York State residents. Presently, she is completing her Ph.D. in medical anthropology.
