Why I Give

Kevin M. Bronner, Jr., ’04, MA/MPA ’08
Director of Policy and Research
The Business Council of New York State

At Rockefeller College I developed the skills necessary to become a recognized New York State tax expert and now utilize these skills to analyze taxes and revenues as the Director of Research for the Business Council of New York State.

What does Rockefeller College mean to you?

Often when I am in a situation where the issues are complex and there is significant time pressure to solve them, as an important decision has to be made, I recall the great Professors that I had at Rockefeller College and consider how they would approach and work to solve the problem. This often proves to be a useful and helpful exercise when confronting complex problems.

What motivates you to give to Rockefeller College and the University at Albany?

Rockefeller College is one of the highest rated public affairs colleges in the nation and every day I see graduates from Rockefeller doing great work for the State of New York and for other organizations.  This performance by fellow graduates is a key factor in my decision to give.  I am sure that any gift to the Rockefeller College and the University at Albany will provide great benefits to society as the programs continue to develop great professionals who work to solve the complex issues in government today.

What would you say to a fellow alumnus who may be 'on the fence' with respect to supporting a State school?

I believe that the Rockefeller College and the University at Albany provide great institutional value to governments and not-for-profit organizations at the local, state, national, and international level.  Your investment in these programs as well as Philanthropic support for current and future students is a gift that you should consider.
