Rockefeller Ranked Among Nation’s Best Public Affairs Schools

Once again, Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy at the University at Albany has been recognized among the nation’s top graduate programs for public affairs by U.S. News & World Report.

Rockefeller College was listed 23rd overall within the rankings for the U.S. News & World Report 2019 Best Graduate Public Affairs Programs. The College was also recognized for excellence in a number of individual public affairs specialties. Rockefeller was ranked:

  • 5th in Information and Technology Management
  • 10th in Nonprofit Management
  • 14th in Public Finance and Budgeting
  • 15th in Public Management and Leadership
  • 34th in Public Policy Analysis

"We are very proud to be recognized once again as one of the top public affairs colleges in the country,” said Rockefeller College Interim Dean R. Karl Rethemeyer. “With two programs ranked in the top 10 and four in the top 20, we offer our students outstanding quality at a very affordable price."

The rankings of public affairs programs, completed in 2018, are based solely on peer assessment survey results. In fall 2017, U.S. News surveyed deans, directors and department chairs representing 282 master's programs in public affairs and administration. The response rate was 49 percent.

Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy at the University at Albany has consistently been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation's premier schools of public affairs. The College offers undergraduate- and graduate-level study in public administration, public policy, international affairs, and political science.
