Rockefeller Alumnae Gather in NYC for Dialogue on Women's Leadership Challenges

On Wednesday, February 5, 2014, Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy and the Center for Women in Government & Civil Society (CWGCS) hosted A Dialogue on Women's Leadership Challenges in the 21st Century at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. The featured speakers were Christine Varney '77, former U.S. Assistant Attorney General for the Antitrust Division for the Obama Administration, and Justice Karen Peters, presiding justice of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court for the Third Judicial Department. NY1 political reporter Courtney Gross moderated the discussion, which included a question and answer period with alumnae, students and friends of Rockefeller College, CWGCS and the University at Albany. Ms. Varney and Justice Peters offered personal stories and advice for achieving success as leaders, addressed the issue of gender discrimination in the workplace and stressed the importance of leading with a collaborative approach.
