Rockefeller Alumnus Dr. Russell Hassan Receives Tenure and Promotion to Associate Professor at Ohio State

Dr. Russell S. Hassan, a 2010 graduate of Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy at the University at Albany, recently was promoted to associate professor with tenure at the John Glenn College of Public Affairs at the Ohio State University.

At the Glenn College, Hassan teaches courses on leadership, public management and research methods. His current research focuses on the influence of managerial practices on motivation, commitment and performance of government employees.

Dr. Hassan’s research works have appeared and are forthcoming in leading journals in the field of public management including the Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, Public Administration Review, International Public Management Journal, and American Review of Public Administration. His research has been recognized with national awards including the Carlo Masini Award for innovative scholarship and the Charles H. Levine Award for the best paper at the Academy of Management Annual meetings. He currently is a member of the editorial board for the International Public Management Journal.

Before joining the Glenn College, Dr. Hassan worked as a business analyst and an IT consultant in state and local government agencies in New York and California.
