Albany N.Y. (August 31, 2012) - This past August, Assistant Professor Yvonne D. Harrison of the Rockefeller College Department of Public Administration and Policy facilitated four workshops with nonprofit boards of directors representing aged care, disability, and mental health in New South Wales and Melbourne, Australia.

The workshops, Overcoming the Greatest Challenges to Board Effectiveness and Harnessing the Potential of Nonprofit Leadership: Meeting Expectations and Achieving High Levels of Performance, were designed to facilitate discussion of the complexity of leadership in the nonprofit governance context and to help boards explore ways to increase their effectiveness through the practice of board self-assessment. The workshops were sponsored by Integratedliving Australia and Kalyna Care and organized by Better Boards Australasia.
