Sue R. Faerman, PhD Named Interim Dean of UAlbany's
College of Computing and Information

Friends and colleagues at the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy extend warm congratulations to Dr. Sue R. Faerman, Distinguished Teaching Professor and Collins Fellow, as she prepares to serve as interim dean of the College of Computing and Information.

In this important role, Dr. Faerman will guide the College while Dean Peter Bloniarz fulfills his new assignment as Executive Director and Senior Policy Analyst for Governor Andrew M. Cuomo's newly created Cyber Security Advisory Board

Faerman, a professor of public administration at Rockefeller and UAlbany alumna, has a long and notable career at the University at Albany as a faculty member and administrator and is currently serving as the Senior Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education. She is an Affiliate Member of the Information Sciences Doctoral Program, serves as the chair of the committee on Self-Designed Specializations, and has worked with numerous doctoral students in the Department of Information Studies over the past two decades. In addition, Dr. Faerman is Academic Chair of the Women's Leadership Academy at the Center for Women in Government & Civil Society at Rockefeller College.

In 2000, Dr. Faerman received the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching, and in 2003, she received the Leslie A. Whittington Excellence in Teaching Award from the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration. She earned her BS in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from Stony Brook University, her MS in Applied Mathematics from George Washington University, and her PhD in Public Administration from the University at Albany, State University of New York.
