Food Pantries for the Capital District

Natasha Pernicka is the Executive Director of the The Food Pantries for the Capital District. She holds a Bachelor's degree from Colorado State University and a Master's degree in Public Administration from Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy. In addition, she is a graduate of the Albany-Colonie Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Tech Valley program.

Natasha has over 14 years of experience in the nonprofit sector in program development, fundraising and strategic planning.  Since joining The Food Pantries in 2011, she has increased revenue and in-kind support by 57% and budgeted food funding by 54%. Under Natasha's leadership, strategic planning efforts have resulted in the beginnings of a Capital District food pantry system assessment and a Barriers to Access project to better coordinate services, identify gaps in the current system, and develop new ways to meet the needs of the hungry, as well as the development of new partnerships to provide more fresh produce through pantries.

In addition, Natasha serves on the board for CARES, Inc. and the Albany and Rensselaer County FEMA Emergency Food and Shelter Board. She is a reviewer for the NY State Hunger Prevention and Nutrition Assistance Program grant process through the Regional Food Bank, and is on the Advisory Committee for the Rockefeller Colleges Nonprofit Community Engagement Series.

In her free time Natasha enjoys spending time with her family, making art, gardening, and nonprofit consulting projects.
