PhD in Public Administration and Policy Application Requirements and Deadlines

All applicants must apply through the University’s Online Application System. Supplementary materials such as the statement of background and goals and resume should be uploaded into the online application system. Once the application is complete, it will be reviewed by faculty in the Department of Public Administration and Policy.


  • February 1st for funding consideration

PhD Application Checklist:

  • Completed Degree Application
  • Transcripts of all graduate and undergraduate work to date (unofficial copies can be submitted, but official will be required upon acceptance)
  • Official GRE scores (GMAT scores are also acceptable)
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Statement of Background and Goals (Special Instructions)
  • Resume
  • $75 Application Fee

Writing samples will be accepted, but are not required.  A writing sample is expected to be a substantial written piece of research, such as a master's essay, major seminar paper, or published work. 

For International Applicants:
