About

I obtained a B.S. degree in Biology from the University at Albany in 2017 as an EOP student. During my undergraduate years I volunteered as a research assistant in Dr. Paolo Forni’s lab, where I learned more about the role of the transcription factor AP2ε in neuronal cell identity. In the summer of 2016, I conducted research in Dr. Darryl Bosco’s laboratory trying to develop nanobodies that could be used as a therapeutic agent in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). I started the MCDN PhD program at the University at Albany in the Fall of 2018 and joined the Berglund lab in 2019. I intend to conduct research on the use of small molecules as a possible therapeutic for myotonic dystrophy (DM) with the hope of developing treatments that address the etiology of this disease. Also, I like history and sports. Go Celtics and Yankees! (Yeah, I know, two rival cities…)
