About

Hormoz completed his graduate work in Organic Chemistry from Purdue University using grocery store bought yeast to make enantiomeric intermediates towards the total synthesis of natural products.  From there he moved onto Pharma/Biotech industry where he spent 29 years at various companies as a Medicinal Chemist, primarily working on oncology based projects in process chemistry where he worked to improve processes needed to scale-up multi-kilogram quantities of potential drug inhibitors.  For the past 4 years Hormoz was at MIT working on bio-analytics and collaborative projects for glioblastoma and malaria.  He recently joined the Berglund Lab at the RNA Institute to aid in the drug discovery of novel DM1 inhibitors.
