Ashley Marte

Ashley Marte is a recent graduate of the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy where she received her Bachelor’s in Political Science with a concentration in Law and Institutions. She has been an active leader in her community at a young age and has worked with organizations such as The Legal Project, RAICES, the New York State Supreme Court, amongst others to provide language translations to asylum seekers and refugees in the states and Latin America; she has also worked with Albany County’s Department of Probation’s Mental Health Unit. Previously, she has spoken at National Public Health Week, the LACS Symposium and worked with the Logistics team at UC Berkeley’s Empowering Women of Color Conference. She has also been recognized as a 2021 Pilar of Change Honoree for 2021 by Sanctuary for Families because of her work with Respond Crisis Translation. In addition, she is passionate about education access and equity, reproductive justice and international economic development hopes to create leadership pipelines for survivors of sexual abuse and trafficking in impoverished communities in the Dominican Republic as she would like to give back to her roots and increase civic engagement and representation within the government though mentorship programs, sex education, career planning, and scholarships to increase college access.
