The University at Albany welcomes all undergraduate and graduate students from Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands who have been displaced by Hurricanes Maria or Irma. When you arrive at UAlbany, you’ll find an inclusive and supportive community where all students are encouraged to succeed, both in and out of the classroom. We invite you to explore our website and academic programs, and sincerely hope you’ll choose to continue your studies here at the University at Albany.

Transfer Credits
UAlbany will make every attempt to maximize the transferring of credits from your institution in Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

If you are unable to provide official transcripts because your home institution is closed, we will accept unofficial copies to expedite the review process, and to aid in advisement and course selection. Official transcripts will be required to validate the transfer of courses prior to the awarding of a degree or certificate. If you do not have an official or unofficial transcript please contact us directly to discuss other possibilities.

Financial Aid
UAlbany encourages all applicants seeking aid, including loans, to fill out the Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The application can be found at fafsa.ed.gov. For more information, visit UAlbany’s Office of Financial Aid.
