About

Research Interests: My primary research interests are in the areas of 1) self-regulation of attention and motivation, 2) training and skilled performance, and 3) personnel selection. In each of these areas, I study 1) when and why people experience mind wandering and the consequences this has on learning, performance, and mood; 2) how people acquire and maintain complex skills and knowledge, and how such expertise is utilized by teams and leaders to facilitate successful performance; 3) the individual and methodological features that contribute to test performance in settings where applicants re-take an assessment multiple times. My research often takes a multidisciplinary perspective, drawing upon multiple areas of psychology and organizational science to answer questions in my domains of interest.
