From Romanticism to Mestizo Modernism: Mexico’s Piano Music

Max Lifchitz presents a panoramic view of Mexican piano music performing works written during the 19th and 20th centuries by Ricardo Castro, Carlos Chavez, Manuel M. Ponce and others. more info

Improvisatory Duets: David Rothenberg and Bob Gluck
Thursday, September 26 at 7pm
Clarinetist David Rothenberg joins pianist and electronic musician Bob Gluck to craft a series of improvisations on piano, clarinets, nature sounds and electronics.The performers offer a sneak peek at the concert with an open rehearsal from 3 to 4pm. more info

Education, Liberation! (or Why the Caged Bird Sings)

Singer-songwriter and jazz vocalist Kyra Gaunt voices her personal and professional journey from vulnerability to liberation. Offering an intimate evening of music from the repertoire of Black art songs, the game-songs of black girls and her own original compositions, this one-woman show addresses the experience of being Black while teaching, being a woman professing hip-hop and even losing her voice for a year. The performer offers a sneak peek at the concert with an open rehearsal from 3 to 4pm. see show poster
