READERS FOR "SELECTED SHORTS" STORYTELLING PROGRAM ANNOUNCED

The NYS Writers Institute and the UAlbany Performing Arts Center, both based at the University at Albany, are pleased to announce the actors who will participate in "Selected Shorts," Public Radio International’s award-winning program featuring readings of classic and new works of short fiction by acclaimed actors, to be held at 7:30pm on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at the UAlbany Performing Arts Center on the University at Albany’s uptown campus located at 1400 Washington Avenue, Albany, NY 12222.

The event has a "Readers and Writers" theme and will feature stories read by guest host Jane Kaczmarek, a "Selected Shorts" performer for the past 16 years best known for her television roles on "Malcolm in the Middle" and "This Is Us"; Anthony Rapp, who starred in the original Broadway production of "Rent" and is currently seen in "Star Trek: Discovery" on CBS; and Alysia Reiner, who stars in the Netflix series "Orange is the New Black" and the ABC legal drama "How to Get Away with Murder."

 "Selected Shorts" is produced by Symphony Space in New York City and broadcast on more than 150 stations to about 300,000 listeners around the country. The "Selected Shorts" podcast consistently ranks as one of the most popular podcasts on iTunes, with more than 100,000 downloads each week.
