Project Achieve

Project Achieve is a pre-college enrichment program that provides students the opportunity to spend their summer meaningfully preparing for college. Students will explore the UAlbany campus and the capital of New York State, build lasting friendships, and learn what it takes to dream big and realize their potential.

Program Information:

  • 3-week pre-college program at UAlbany, between July 14th and August 2nd, 2019
  • Participation in two college courses
  • Evening and weekend activities

College Courses:

EAPS 487 GLOBAL LEADERSHIP:

Students will deepen their cultural intelligence through connections with
students from the United Kingdom. The program fosters leadership skills, an appreciation of diversity, and culminates in a meaningful service-learning experience.

UUNI 103 COLLEGE TRANSITION:

Students will learn about the academic rigors of college, important campus resources, and how to take advantage of all the opportunities that a college career offers. This class provides students with the necessary skills and experiences to prepare for college.

  • Stipend of over $500
  • Bus transportation to and from UAlbany 

Criteria:

  • Rising juniors and seniors
  • Interest in pursuing higher education
  • Highly motivated

Application Process:

  • High school principals will nominate students to apply
  • Students must complete application by February 14th
  • Group interviews will take place at high schools on March 18th and 19th
  • Decision notifications will be sent by April 1st
  • Selected students must complete the UAlbany Application for Nondegree Study
