Transfer Student Orientation

Welcome Transfer Students!

Transfer Orientation is a two-phase program designed to support your transition to UAlbany: Connection Day and Welcome Week Orientation.

Connection Day

Connection Day is a one-day, in-person program with select dates offered in the summer. You will have the opportunity to connect with your Orientation Leader and peers, learn about UAlbany resources, and explore campus.

Family members and supporters are welcome to join us for a separate but concurrent Connection Day program.

Registration for Connection Day begins in April and is available through your Application Portal. Certain dates may fill up quickly and availability varies.

Connection Day is optional for new transfer students.

Welcome Week Orientation

Transfer Welcome Week Orientation is on Friday, August 23rd. You will attend a variety of workshops with your peers. You will also have the opportunity to participate in a community service activity, take a campus tour, and choose session topics based on your interest.

Transfer Orientation is an exciting opportunity to connect with the campus community and prepare for life as a Great Dane!

Registration for Orientation begins in April and is available through your Application Portal. Please note that Connection Day and Orientation registration is available to all deposited students that have met the immunization and health requirements

Transfer Orientation is required for new transfer students.

Registering for Classes

Beginning in mid-May, if you have paid your enrollment deposit and met immunization requirements, an academic advisor will contact you to schedule an advising appointment and assist you in registering for classes. If you have any questions, please email [email protected]
