Anurag Sharma

Dr. Anurag Sharma is the Associate Project Director for the Science & Technology Entry Program (STEP) at UAlbany. He comes to this position with a vast interdisciplinary scientific research, academic teaching and student mentoring background.
Since earning his PhD from Binghamton University, he has worked at several agencies, research centers and universities, including NASA Astrobiology Institute, Carnegie Institution, Virginia Tech, RPI, Suffolk University and Marist College. He is also serving as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Natural Sciences Division at University of Maryland Global Campus.
He has authored several research articles and books and is actively committed to open science and technology information and against selective access by the commercialization of education.
With his vast academic experience and high-energy style, Dr. Sharma intends to work on ‘leveling the field’ for STEM accessibility for increased participation by underrepresented students' which is aimed at enhanced college entry via furthering the STEP initiative.
