New York State Pollution Prevention Institute (NYSP2I)
The New York State Pollution Prevention Institute (NYSP2I) is headquartered at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and is a partnership between RIT, Clarkson University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, University at Buffalo and the 10 NYS Regional Technology Development Centers.The mission of NYSP2I is to make New York State more sustainable for workers, the public, the environment, and the economy through, reductions in toxic chemical use, the efficient use of raw materials, energy and water, and reductions in emissions to the environment and waste generation. NYSP2I is an integrated program of several major elements, technology research, development and diffusion, outreach, professional training, a community grants program, and academic educational programs.

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) - Pollution Prevention (P2)
Pollution prevention (P2) is reducing or eliminating waste at the source by modifying production processes, promoting the use of non-toxic or less-toxic substances, implementing conservation techniques, and re-using materials rather than putting them into the waste stream. Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) - College Student Internships for Sustainability
The DEC Internship program is good for businesses, students, and the environment. Interns can provide businesses with: technical assistance, reduce pollution, reduce energy use, reduce water use, enhance water  quality, design green infrastructure, and many more. This opportunity gives New York state businesses with access to the top engineering and science students in their area. 

New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) - EDGE Program
The Economic Development Growth Extension (EDGE) Program offers local, regionally-based access to the energy efficiency and research and development (R&D) programs. NYSERDA works with 26 Regional Outreach Contractors strategically located throughout New York State’s 10 regions to extend the program's outreach to commercial institutional, municipal, industrial and residential customers.
