Solar PV Program Financial Incentives
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) provides cash incentives for the installation by Eligible Installers of new grid-connected Solar Electric or Photovoltaic (PV) systems that are 25kW or less for residential, and 200 kW or less for commercial sites. Funding for the Solar Electric Incentive Program (“Program”) has been allocated by the New York State Renewable Portfolio Standard. Incentives will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis, and PV incentive applications will be accepted through December 31, 2023, or until funds are fully committed, whichever comes first. Solar Entrepreneur Program for Commercial Customers: PSEG Long Island
Our valuable rebates combined with New York State and Federal tax incentives make PV more affordable than ever before. By using Solar Energy and other energy efficient technologies in your commercial building or place of business, you will: Help protect the Environment, reduce your consumption of fossil fuels, lower your monthly bills, and save money by ‘buying your electricity up front’ for the next 25+ years. The incentives vary depending on the systems size, type of equipment installed, panel orientation, and shading. The rebate is calculated using the Expected Performance Based Buy-down (EPBB) method which allows us to incentivize more efficient and optimally sited solar systems. The EPBB is an up-front incentive payment (rebate) for new grid connected solar PV systems and inverters based on the expected output of the system compared to an ideal solar system installation.
