Office of Research Compliance Changes Name and Location

The University at Albany's Office of Research Compliance has been renamed the Office of Regulatory Research Compliance (ORRC) and has moved to Lecture Center Sub-Basement 28 (LCSB 28). There will be an Open House at the new offices on Wednesday, Sept. 17.

The Division for Research believes the new name better reflects the mission of the ORRC, which is to provide assistance to faculty, staff, and students in conducting research in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. While the name and location are changing, what will not change is the office's commitment to assisting University researchers in navigating the complex regulatory research environment.

ORRC previously shared an office suite with the Sponsored Programs Office in the Management Services Center (MSC). With the growing research portfolio and the addition of staff members over the years, the space was no longer sufficient to accommodate both offices. The adjacent office (Office of Sponsored Funds Personnel) had outgrown its space as well. ORRC's move paved the way for all three offices to gain much needed workspace. The space in MSC vacated by ORRC has been apportioned between Sponsored Programs and Sponsored Funds Personnel.

Director of the ORRC Adrienne Bonilla said, "I am extremely please with our move. Not only have three offices gained much needed workspace but, with ORRC's move, my office is more conveniently located for students and faculty."

The new office is accessible via the stairway in front of the University Library's main entrance or the stairs in front of Collins Circle, just outside of the University Museum. Either stairway goes to the Lecture Center (LC) level. The elevator and stairway to the sub-basement level are located next to the IT Help Desk (LC 27). The ORRC is directly across from the elevator.

Visit LCSB 28 for all business related to the ORRC, the Institutional Review Board (IRB), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), and the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC). The office's new phone number is (518) 442-9050.
