Dwight Williams is director of the Undergraduate Public Health Program in the School of Public Health, director of the Northeast Regional Public Health Leadership Institute, and director of the New York State Department of Health’s Health Management Development Fellowship Program. He is the past chair of the executive committee and current co-chair of the Strategies Workgroup of the National Public Health Leadership Development Network, charged with increasing public health leadership capacity through the promotion of linkages among state, regional, national and international leadership programs. He was appointed as chair-elect of the Public Health Leadership Society, which links alumni of the national and regional public health leadership institutes and other public health leadership development programs in support of lifelong learning and equitable public health policy, and addresses contemporary issues impacting the future of public health. He is chair of the board of directors of the Capital District African-American Coalition on AIDS, faculty partner with the W. Haywood Burns Environmental Education Center and co-director/co-PI of the Journey Mentoring Program.  He is also on the faculty of the National Environmental Public Health Leadership Institute, where he presents on change styles, interprets results, and provides executive coaching for participants. Previously, he was the chief health planner in the Division of Health Facility Planning for the New York State Department of Health.
