Shaghayegh Sahebi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science. Her scholarly interests include application of Machine Learning in Recommender Systems, Educational Data Mining, and Social Networks.

Her research is focused on finding creative ways to use external information in these problems, adopting approaches such as transfer learning, tensor factorization, and topic models.

Sahebi received her Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh in 2016. She earned a master's degree in computer software engineering from the University of Tehran in 2009, and a master's degree in intelligent systems from the University of Pittsburgh in 2013.
