Biography:

Alan Lizotte's research and teaching interests include guns and gun control, the correlates and causes of juvenile delinquency, and the factors related to various forms of victimization.

He is co-author of the book, Gangs and Delinquency in Developmental Perspective (Cambridge University Press, 2003), which won the American Society of Criminology's Hindelang Award for the Most Outstanding Contribution to Research in Criminology in 2003. He is co-principal investigator on the Rochester Youth Development Study, an ongoing longitudinal study of juvenile delinquency and drug use covering three generations of subjects' families.
