A Prescription for Pre-Health

ALBANY, N.Y. (September 12, 2016) — With major news concerning health sciences at the East Campus due today, it is good to note UAlbany's legacy of having prepared thousands of graduates to go onto success in medical fields.

Morgan DeVuyst '16 is one such graduate.

DeVuyst, now a student in the physician assistant program at SUNY Upstate Medical University, credits her UAlbany experience for what she believes will be a rewarding career as a physician assistant.

As an undergrad, she double-majored in Human Biology and Psychology, was a member of the Pre-Med Club, an EMT, an intern in local hospitals and at the Global Institute for Health and Human Rights, and engaged in undergraduate research. “You’re in the Capital Region of New York, so there are many opportunities in the pre-health track of which you can take advantage,” she said, when interviewed last spring just before graduation.
