Biography:

Dr. Huang received her Ph.D. in Geography from University of California, Los Angeles in 2001. Since then she has been a member of the Department of Geography and Planning and is currently director of the Confucius Institute at UAlbany. Dr. Huang’s research has two focuses. One is on housing, low-income housing, housing inequality and residential segregation in China. The other is on migration, mobility and urbanization in China, She is currently working on home ownership, multiple home ownership, low-income housing, housing inequality and discrimination in Chinese cities.

She is the author/co-author of several books including Chinese Cities in the 21st Century (2019), Housing Inequality in Chinese Cities (2014), China’s Geography (2015), and Confronting the Challenges of Urbanization in China (2016), and many papers.
