Welcome to Rockefeller College

Message from Dean Frank J. Thompson

Nelson A. Rockefeller, whose estimable career in public service influenced New York State, our nation, and the world for much of the 20th century, respected knowledge and learning. His commitment to shaping the State University of New York into a respected national presence lives today. Fittingly, the Nelson A. Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy at the University at Albany sustains that legacy: engaging in efforts to help solve society's problems.

Rockefeller College Alumni Update

Catherine Bertini

"My undergraduate experience at Albany formed the basis of my career. In the classroom, I learned about political philosophy, theory, history, communications, and the structure of governments. In the NYS Capitol, I learned about the workings of government and politics. As a result, I am proud to do my best to live up to the motto of Rockefeller College , to 'Make a Difference.'"

Catherine Bertini, BA Political Science ‘71, is the Under Secretary
of Management with the United Nations. Prior to her current position, she was the executive director of the United Nations World Food Programme.
