Key-Pal
This page contains links to both papers written by
ESL educators on their uses of e-mail in the classroom, and web
pen-pal sites where teachers and students can find their e-mail
pen-pals. You can find information about practical aspects of e-mail
projects, and resources to use e-mail.
IECC is a
free service to help teachers link with partners in other cultures and
countries for email classroom pen-pal and other project exchanges.
The Student Letter Exchange is one of the oldest and
largest pen pal matching organizations in the world. Any student
(ages 8-19) can be registered for FREE on their database if they are
willing to correspond in English.
This site is for both students
and teachers to post requests and descriptions to find individual
pen-pals or partner classes.
Tower Pals are for people to meet others around the world on-line and to learn about each other's culture. This site includes individual Tower Pals and classroom Tower Pals for classes
who want to have email exchanges with other classes.
Not precisely pen-pals per se, but
it can get students involved in English discussion over the net. This website provides the mailing lists for students to
share special interests and cross-cultural issues. Teachers have to
register for students, and the teachers will be placed in a different
list for mentoring and helping their students.
