Research interests:

As a skeletal biologist and bioarchaeologist, I research questions regarding the biological profile and influences to it, such as various pathological conditions and stress markers.

Due to previous work on the U.S.-Mexico border with human migration issues, I am interested in the assessment of a region of origin of an unknown decedent, particularly of relation to Central American populations.  I would like to pursue research that further defines and distinguishes ancestry, age, and sex methods that are specific to this region of the world.  Development of these methods may help to identify and repatriate skeletal remains that have previously been classified as "Hispanic" in a modern context.  Additional benefits include more informative (accurate and precise) data for historic and prehistoric populations as well.
