Honors Librarian

Greg Bobish

Greg Bobish, the new Honors College librarian, has been teaching information literacy at the University at Albany for 16 years. His current focus is on incorporating concepts from the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy into his courses  and other instructional materials, as well as on how students relate to these concepts. He is also the libraries’ liaison to area high schools, and is interested in how research skills gained in high school translate to the higher education context. Greg has served as Secretary/Chair Elect for the Library Faculty and Chair of the University Libraries' Emerging Technology committee. In this role, he helps the Libraries use new technologies to provide information resources to the University at Albany's tech savvy student population. He also provides service to the State University of New York Librarians Association where he is the treasurer. Nationally, Greg has been a member of PRIMO, the Peer-reviewed Instructional Materials Online committee of the Instruction Section of the Association of College and Research Libraries. This committee provides examples of best practices in learning objects to his fellow instruction librarians across the country. Greg received the Excellence in Librarianship in 2013 for his exceptional contributions to the University at Albany.
