Dr. Hiroyuki Mori is a professor at the College of Policy Science in Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto, Japan and a visiting professor at Cornell University. He is a public finance researcher who has been interested in public works and intergovernmental fiscal relations. Public Works Reforms (2008) reflects his early concern with Japan’s infrastructure issues from regional socioeconomic perspectives. This book was prized from an academic society Japan Association of Local Public Finance in 2009. He has energetically published a lot of articles in public finance fields. He has been recently engaged in asbestos disaster problems concerning both labor and environmental issues. He is a co-editor of Asbestos Disaster: Lessons from Japan's Experience (2011), the first book on Japan’s asbestos problems in English. He has served for the board of directors in academic societies in Japan.
