Certificate Students

Below are selected bios of certificate program students.

Annie Aronowitz. In May 2017, Annie graduated from UAlbany with a major in Criminal Justice and a double minor in psychology and women’s, gender, and sexuality studies. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Criminal Justice and an Advanced Graduate Certificate in International Health and Human Rights. The certificate program allows her to attain knowledge and degrees in the two fields she feels most passionate about: crime & justice and international public health. Learning about the intersection of the two traditional issues of health and human rights through this certificate program has allowed Annie to apply them within the field of criminal and social justice. Upon graduation in 2018, Annie hopes to work in the field of corrections and engage in the implementation of policy regarding prisons and prisoners throughout New York State.

Leah Diedrich is a second year Master in Social Work student preparing to graduate from the SUNY Albany School of Social Welfare in May '18. Along with her graduate degree in Social Work she is working toward a Graduate Certificate in International Health and Human Rights through the GIHHR which will also be completed in the Spring of '18.
