AWARDS AND COMPETITIONS: While the Times Union Race for Literacy will be a fun event for runners of all levels, we realize that a little bit of healthy competition can be a fun thing. So we've created individual and team divisions as follows:
Top 5 Overall Men and Women:1st place: $250   2nd place: $200 3rd place: $150 4th place: $100 5th place: $50
Additional Prizes in these Categories:
- Open (Men & Women)
Age groups (under 14, 1519, 2025, 2630, 3135, 3640, 4145, 4650, 5155, 5660, 6165, 65 and up)
- School teams* (Elemetary, High, College).
5 members per team, top 3 finisher score.
- Corporate Teams.
5 members per team, top 3 score.*School teams are for registered students. Faculty and staff should form corporate teams.
The top 3 finishers in each division will win awards
There is no fee for team entries, but each member of the team must be registered individually.
Team captains should fill out the team entry declaration and mail entries together.
Back of the Pack Prizes:Not likely to win the race? Coming in the top 3 of your age group a distant fantasy? Hey, finishing 3.1 miles and helping to expand the educational opportunities for area students is quite an achievement and deserves to be recognized!
We will be awarding prizes for those who come in just a little further back in the pack than the winners. So if you come in 100th, 150th, 200th, and so on, we'll have a very special prize for you. Be sure to stick around for the awards ceremony so you can be recognized for your accomplishment!
