To: All University at Albany StudentsIn view of unfolding national events, classes have now been cancelled until further notice. While the Governor has closed all state offices, the Residence Halls and dining halls will all remain open and faculty and staff will be available on campus. An information center is being established in the Campus Center and we will have on-going messages on the University Home Page and Channel 37.
Our concerns are with you, our students, and the many families whose lives are affected by these tragic events. We recognize that many of you may need to contact your families. Due to the heavy volume of telephone traffic, please try to use an alternate mode of communication such as e-mail.
We'd like to remind you that transportation into the New York City area is shut down and it is not advisable to travel at this time.
We encourage all students to remain on campus. Faculty and staff will be available to students on campus, especially in the Campus Center and the Residence Halls. A candlelight vigil will be held in the Campus Center Main Fountain area at 7:30 PM this evening.
Please remember that this campus is your home away from home. All essential services will be operational. We are all here to help and support each other during this difficult time.
