Internationally acclaimed contemporary photographer James Casebere will speak on his work on Monday, Oct. 22 in the Performing Arts Center Recital Hall from 4:30 to 6:00 pm. Casebere's photographs, which combine the disciplines of photography, sculpture, installation and conceptual art, are two-dimensional sets and models that the artist painstakingly constructs in his studio. His work has been exhibited most recently at Sean Kelly Gallery in NYC, as well as the Whitney Museum of American Art, Robert Mann Gallery, The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Jay Gorney and PPOW in NYC, as well as countless galleries and museums nationally and worldwide. Casebere is the recipient of numerous grants and awards, including the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, the New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship, and several National Endowment for the Arts Visual Arts Fellowships.
