SOE Doctoral Student Kishmar Best Honored with AIRC Research Award

Albany, NY (December 11, 2017) - Kishmar Best, doctoral student in Educational Policy & Leadership, has been awarded the Marjorie Peace Lenn Research Award by the American International Recruitment Council (AIRC).


Kishmar BestThis award was established to honor Dr. Lenn, who was instrumental in establishing AIRC. The award is intended to encourage scholarly research about international trade in education and international student mobility. Best’s research topic is Internationalization and Recruitment at Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs): Administrative Structures, Institutional Support & Challenges.

In addition to studying historically black colleges & universities, Best’s research interests include the university presidency, higher education as a field of study and doctoral education. His professional interests include enrollment management, assessment, leadership development, mentoring and social justice.
