Brian Gouker is responsible for several national programs in NSA’s College of Cyber. He directs the Centers of Academic Excellence (CAE) programs, the GenCyber K-12 initiative, a highly selective technical summer internship program, and manages advanced cyber education programs for NSA civilians and military cyber forces.

Brian is a past Visiting Professor and Chair for Cyber Studies at the U.S. Army War College where he provided advice to the school’s leadership and instructed senior military officer and civilian graduate students and international fellows. Brian has held a wide variety of technical, leadership, operational, and representative positions across NSA and the federal government.

He is the former Director of the National Security Incident Response Center (NSIRC), served as a senior member of NSA’s Legislative Affairs Office, and completed assignments with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI). Brian also served with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) as a two-term member of the Information Security and Privacy Advisory Board (ISPAB) where he provided security and technical advice to federal senior leadership as part of an industry-academic-government committee. Brian’s numerous speaking engagements have included Huntsville’s National Cyber Summit (NCS), the Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education (CISSE), the Florida Center for Cybersecurity Conference, at conferences for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), and at various universities across the country.

Brian holds a Bachelor's Degree from The University of Texas at Austin, and Master's Degrees from Houston Baptist University and the Army War College.
