Important: Back to School Guide for All Students
Dear UAlbany Student,
We eagerly anticipate your return to the University at Albany in a few weeks. The UAlbany Forward Together Task Force has been working diligently to develop plans that provide access to an excellent education for every student in an environment that maintains the health, safety and well-being of our campus community.
We have developed an academic plan that meets the needs of our students and faculty by providing a full slate of classes offered in multiple delivery options across the curriculum. We have enhanced our ability to offer robust and quality online instruction, engaged in the restructuring of classrooms to provide safe in-person delivery, and are coordinating processes to streamline services. We have reimagined residence halls, dining facilities and social spaces -- all to provide a welcoming and safe campus experience.
This means there will be considerable changes in campus life this fall and the return to campus comes with new responsibilities and commitments. The Fall 2020 Return to UAlbany student guide introduces the changes that have been put in place to date and provides guidance for a safe and fulfilling experience. Given the continued shifting conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic, these guidelines are presented with the understanding that we will need to respond and adapt to changing public health requirements as they emerge and that remaining flexible in our plans is of paramount importance in the weeks and months ahead.
I encourage you to visit the COVID-19 website regularly for updates and additional information about the University’s plans.
