Volunteering your time

As a member of the Great Dane family, you are already enrolled on the EngageUAlbany platform, where a host of service opportunities are listed. Simply login using your UAlbany ID, set up your profile and see all the needs we currently have on campus, in our communities, around the state, nationally and globally. Many of these volunteer opportunities are virtual.

We all can make a difference – commit to doing something bigger than yourself.

Advocacy Center for Sexual Violence

The Advocacy Center for Sexual Violence is open virtually and we are still providing comprehensive services to students.

We are meeting with existing and new clients virtually. This includes any form of sexual violence (sexual assault, intimate partner violence, sexual exploitation, stalking, sexual harassment), no matter when or where it occurred.

To contact us, please call the office at 518-442-CARE (518-442-2273) and we will put you in direct contact with an advocate who can assist you. You may also contact us through e-mail at cstenger@albany.edu. We are here to help!

In addition, we are offering virtual workshops and bystander programs through Zoom. You can check out our offerings through MyInvolvement, Events calendars and on our social media accounts.

The University Office of Equity and Compliance is open virtually to accept and investigate any Title IX sexual violence complaints by phone at 518-442-3800 or via e-mail at oec@albany.edu

Food pantry

Although the Purple Pantry is physically closed due to COVID-19, UAlbany community members can still pick up bags of food at the University Police Department. The police department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Purple Threads clothing closet is closed until further notice and unfortunately cannot accept donations at this time.

While staff in the Office of the Dean of Students are not physically present in the office, you may contact us at dos@albany.edu. We will answer inquiries and make arrangements to serve your needs.

Pending student conduct matters

Students with pending conduct matters would have been contacted by a Student Conduct Administrator via email. The student should contact that individual with any questions they have. If the student is unsure who the Student Conduct Administrator overseeing their matter is, they can email communitystandards@albany.edu.
