Chinese Culture Workshop

This course is designed especially for busy adults to learn Chinese language and culture in a fun and interactive way, by participating various cultural activities in class, such as singing Chinese songs, appreciating Chinese traditional music, experiencing Chinese calligraphy, tasting Chinese food, and learning about Chinese tea arts, knotting and papercutting. It not only helps students to learn Chinese language and culture but also build up their confidence to learn it better and more effectively.

Taiji & Martial Arts 太极和功夫

This course tell you how to play Taiji and martial arts, Taiji is a Chinese cosmological term for the "Supreme Ultimate" state of undifferentiated absolute and infinite potential, the oneness before duality, from which Yin and Yang originate, can be compared with the old Wuji ( without ridgepole).What is more, Taiji is suitable for every age, even you are not good at sports, if can also get fun from Taiji.

Traditional Chinese Music Appreciation

This course is mainly to teach traditional Chinese music, such as Chinese Traditional folk songs, classic art songs and even traditional musical instruments. Let American students be familiar with the basic rhythm of Chinese music and various forms of performance, understand the cultural connotation through music, cultivate American students' interest in learning traditional Chinese music, and combine modern pop music elements to provide students with a relaxed and enjoyable learning atmosphere.

Iron Palm (Hand) (Chinese: 铁掌功) is a body of training techniques in various Chinese martial arts. It is originally one of the 72 arts of the Shaolin temple. These conditioning techniques are typically meant to condition the hands to allow a practitioner to deliver very powerful blows without injury to his or her hands. This 6 week course will provide an overview of the progressive methods of Iron Palm development. Additionally, we will learn specific methods of application using Wing Chun kungfu techniques.

This course introduces advanced language students to various aspects of contemporary Mandarin usage and affords students ample opportunity to use spoken and written Chinese in class. The course is non-credit.

HSK Test is an international standardized exam which tests and rates Chinese language proficiency. It evaluates Chinese language abilities for non-native Chinese speakers in term of using the Chinese language in their daily, academic and professional lives, helps them to improve their handwriting and to enhance their understanding of Chinese characters and culture.

Hanyu Pinyin is the most widely accepted standard for romanizing Mandarin Chinese. This course is designed to help learns master Hanyu Pinyin by games and songs. By the end of the course, learners can study Chinese Characters easily. The course only opens to Children.
