Mir Nahid Mahmud joined CHSR in 2018 as a Research Scientist. Nahid started his career as a Lecturer in Economics at the University of Dhaka. He has been conducting policy research and program evaluation since 2008. Prior to joining CHSR, Nahid was a Graduate Student Assistant at the Tax Analytics Solution Center (NYSDTF) since 2014 where he was engaged in the development and evaluation of a Randomized Control Experiment which was designed to educate new business owners about their Sales Tax obligations to promote voluntary compliance.

Nahid completed his Bachelor’s and Master's degree in Economics from the University of Dhaka. He also received MSc in Economics from the University of Warwick. Currently, Nahid is a Ph.D. Candidate in Economics at the University at Albany. His research focuses on how the presence of a disabled child may affect maternal labor market participation. Nahid is also studying the effects of CHIPRA -2009 on health coverage of immigrant children. His final chapter examines the long-term health and labor market effects of the Bangladesh-1974 Famine.
