Conference Theme

        This conference will also be aligned with the 4th Symposium on Urban Planning Education in China. Every ten years since 1983, a joint symposium is held by the Centre of Urban Studies and Urban Planning, University of Hong Kong and the Centre for Urban and Regional Studies (CURS), Sun Yat-sen University. The aim of this symposium is to examine key issues and challenges facing urban planning education in different stages. Other themed symposiums will also be hosted in this conference, including an international workshop co-organized by SAGE Publications, Urban Studies editorial board and the CURS, Sun Yat-sen University, and several panel sessions jointly organized by Urban China Research Network (UCRN) and the CURS. These sessions will focus on the redevelopment and transformation of Chinese cities and the future of urban China studies.
