Introduction

Dr. Marques de Carvalho joined the Department of Computer Science at University at Albany in the Summer of 2018. Prior to that he had been a faculty at the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department at the University of Toledo, Ohio. In North America he had been also a computer science faculty at University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; University of Windsor, Ontario; and Western University, Ontario. He had also been a computer science faculty at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, Brazil. He worked also as a consultant in software engineering at Electronic Data Systems, Indianapolis, Indiana and at General Electric, Cleveland, Ohio.

Dr. Marques de Carvalho’s research interests are in the areas of software engineering, multimodal human-computer interaction and user modeling, and document processing.
