Hazel Prelow

Professor Hazel M. Prelow, Ph.D., of the Department of Psychology has received a grant from the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development entitled Developmental Patterns of Internalizing andExternalizing Problems in Young Adolescents.

The research project addresses the need to understand the variability in the developmental patterns and courses of emotional and behavioral problems in young adolescents in the Child Protective Services system. Understanding factors that differentiate between adolescents who develop mental health problems and those who do not could lead to more effective interventions for this vulnerable population.
